About Helen

Helen Lee is an author and speaker with nearly two decades of experience communicating to Christian audiences. In addition to writing The Missional Mom, she served as co-editor and contributor of Growing Healthy Asian-American Churches (IVP, 2006) and has written numerous articles for publications such as Christianity TodayLeadership Journal, and Today’s Christian Woman, twice earning Higher Goals awards in reporting from the Evangelical Press Association.

She has been featured on numerous radio and television shows, including Focus on the Family, 100 Huntley Street, Midday Connection, and the Chris Fabry Live! show. Helen is a passionate and engaging speaker and makes regular appearances at conferences, churches, and colleges all around the country. Recently she was a featured speaker at Moody Bible Institute’s 2011 Missions Conference.

Helen is also an entrepreneur at heart and co-founded the Best Christian Workplaces with Al Lopus in 2002 to help Christian organizations improve the quality of their human resources management. She loves coming up with new ideas for businesses or ministries and nurturing those ideas come to life. Helen has a B.A. in bioethics from Williams College, an M.A. from Wheaton College (Communications/Theology), and an MBA from Babson College with a focus on entrepreneurship. She attends Parkwood Community Church (Evangelical Covenant Church) in the suburbs of Chicago.

Helen is married to the talented classical pianist Brian Lee, a professor of music at Moody Bible Institute, and has three active, amazing boys 9 years old and under, whom she attempts to homeschool whenever she is not writing, blogging, or Tweeting.
